Automatic feedback settings

Set up automatic feedback for items you've sold so you don't miss thanking your buyers for their purchase.

Leaving feedback is a great way to say thank you to buyers, and it encourages them to leave feedback for you. With automatic feedback, you can "set it and forget it", allowing you to focus on other aspects of your selling activity.

In your automatic feedback preferences, you can:

  • Choose when feedback should be left (after the buyer has paid, or after they've paid and left you positive feedback)
  • Edit a range of positive comments that the system uses randomly when leaving the automated feedback

Tip
This feature is different to eBay automated feedback, which may be left by eBay when buyers haven't yet left feedback. If you've set up automatic feedback to be left when buyers leave positive feedback, your automatic feedback will only be triggered when a buyer leaves their own positive feedback.

Set up automatic feedback as a seller

Automatic feedback settings are available in the All listings and orders section of the Selling preferences page - opens in new window or tab.

Here's how to set your automatic feedback preferences for sold items:

  1. Select Edit next to Automate feedback.
  2. Choose when your automatic feedback will be left:
    • After the buyer has paid
    • After the buyer has paid and left you positive feedback
  3. To change the default positive feedback comments or add your own, select Edit stored comments. Make your changes and select Save.
  4. Select Save to complete your settings.

You'll still need to leave feedback manually for items where the buyer didn't pay, and for items where the buyer didn't leave positive feedback (if you chose this option). You can always reply to feedback you received.

Save time by automating feedback for your buyers – either when they've paid for items, or after they've paid and left you positive feedback.
