Drop shipping

Drop shipping, also known as product sourcing, is when you buy stock from a supplier and work with them to send items directly to your buyers without ever handling the items yourself.

Drop shipping, where you fulfil orders directly from a wholesale supplier, is allowed in certain situations. If you use drop shipping, you're still responsible for the safe delivery of the item within the time frame you stated in your listing, and the buyer's overall satisfaction with their purchase.

Drop shipping is permitted on eBay, provided you have pre-purchased the stock and comply with the guidelines in our Third-party fulfilment policy. For example, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that sends it directly to your customer is not allowed.

Activity on eBay is required to follow this policy, the eBay User Agreement and all applicable laws, as well as respect the rights of third parties. If it doesn't, eBay may take action consistent with applicable laws and the eBay User Agreement, and may even be legally required to do so. Such actions may include, as an example only: Removing the listing or other content, issuing a warning, restricting activity or account suspension.

If you use drop shipping, you need to make sure you're complying with our Third-party fulfilment policy.
