Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in DVD & Blu-ray Players
Make no mistake, The £2000 Pioneer BDP-LX91 is the Daddy of Blu Ray Players! It may not be the most expensive player ever (Denon made one which originally retailed for £4k!!) but it has the size, weight and above all, the performance to stamp its mark as the ultimate Blu Ray Player. It weighs 16kg! That's amplifier territory and just trying to lift it onto your shelf is an effort but you instantly feel the quality of this giant. It looks very similar to the cheaper LX51 and LX71 but this is a totally different beast. The components used are of the highest quality (7 Wolfson DACs used for each channel for example produce the very highest end audio) and the video/audio circuitry is kept totally separate to ensure the best possible performance. I have read dozens of Blu Ray player reviews which state a pure digital signal should always look the same no matter how expensive the player playing it. They say a £100 player should be able to produce the same quality image as a £2000 player such as this and it's only the DVD upscaling of the more expensive player which will produce noticeable improvements. Well I, Or should I say my eyes disagree. I have owned many Blu Ray players before and on my 60" Pioneer Kuro TV, none have looked as good as the Pionee LX91. Blacks are deeper, images are sharper and cleaner (no noise in the image) and you just know when you are watching a Blu Ray that it doesn't come much better than this. Today you can pick up one of these for around £350-£500 and although that is still a huge amount to pay for a Blu Ray player, especially now 4K is on the market, if you have a large collection of discs and want the very best you can get, then the Pioneer is a good investment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Read full review

This a superb Blu-Ray,DVD and CD player giving excellent pictures and sound when used with my Pioneer 500A Plasma screen and Pioneer LX 83 Receiver. I have noticed a definite improvement in both Blu-ray and DVD compared with the BDP-LX71 and Yamaha 2700 players that I used previously.
