I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN "ARCTOPHILIA",
"ARCTOPHILE" ALTHOUGH IT SOUNDS LIKE IT MUST BE ILLEGAL AND AWFUL, IT SIMPLY IS THE OFFICIAL NAME FOR "ONE WHO COLLECTS TEDDY BEARS". AS A CHILD ALMOST EVEYONE HAD A TEDDY BEAR. I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING ANTIQUE TEDDY BEARS SINCE 1985. I LOVE THEIR HISTORY AND THE PART THEY HAVE PLAYED IN THE LIVES OF MOST OF US AS CHILDREN. AS I LOOK AT EACH ONE, I THINK OF ALL THE STORIES THEY COULD TELL. I ALSO COLLECT MECHANICAL BEARS. MY GOAL IS TO SIMPLY PRESERVE THEM AS PART OF OUR HISTORY. Great reference book for all Teddy Bear collectors!
This book has so many pictures of different brands of bears in color, also b&w. It really helps to id antique bears you might buy that don't have tags, buttons, or labels. There is even a chapter that shows step by step, how to make a bear. I checked this book out from my library so many times, I finally decided to buy it.

wonderful and informative
I was real happy to find this book listed on ebay as I collect older vintage to antique teddy bears I am always looking to learn more and educate my self on those types of items and this book was very informative. I love the wonderful color photos included in the book. there is even a guide to help repair and clean vintage bears it really is helpful and i am glad to of found it.
