Want to buy this product for a long time. At last got it. Excellent picture quality and the features. Its like dream comes true.
I'll start this review with a quick talk about the 24-105 lens. Perfect! Right thats that out the way onto the 7D itself. I bought this as an upgrade from the 550d. It has the same 18mp ASP-C crop sensor that the 550d has, however an improve shutter system and dual processors means it can shoot nearly twice the speed as lower canon dslrs, the camera body is also alot bigger than the lower level cameras but I actually class this as a good thing as its alot more comfortable to grip and the buttons are alot easier to reach all round. Having used the 7D for various styles of shooting so far I can reach this verdict. The 7D, with its tough body and weather sealing it makes for a great outdoor camera, its crop sensor allows for better reach when trying to take pictures of objects far away (does mean struggle with close in or wide angle shots) Its high shutter speed does make it perfect for sports or wildlife when trying to capture that instant shot. Downside to the camera comes when trying to shoot in low light, as with all crop sensor cameras they can not pick up as much light as full frame, so the real solutions are a flash or if thats not feasible then uping the ISO but once your up to and above around 1600 ish then the noise becomes really rather noticeable. So big question to ask is what and where will you be shooting mainly? Outside or somewhere with plenty of light? Then the 7D is a perfect choice. Or more indoors or in limited light? If yes and picture quality is key then I would suggest a 5D mkII or the upcoming 6DRead full review
