This works to extend the life of this HDD disk. It also operates quietly thanks to its WhisperDrive technology. This Caviar drive also uses SoftSeek technology, which ensures more efficient operation.     Makes a great drive to restore backups.

    Runs cool. Had no bad sectors. Just a nice drive. I use it in conjunction with my backup activities. Old backups are easily restored to this drive, from which I can recover even the old registry values of installed programs.
