Synopsis
Milan Kundera's sixth novel springs from a casual gesture of a woman to her swimming instructor, a gesture that creates a character in the mind of a writer named Kundera. Like Flaubert's Emma or Tolstoy's Anna, Kundera's Agnes becomes an object of fascination, of indefinable longing. From that character springs a novel, a gesture of the imagination that both embodies and articulates Milan Kundera's supreme mastery of the novel and its purpose; to explore thoroughly the great, themes of existence.

Despite the East Coast being under a blanket of snow and ice this week, the book arrived safely and is exactly as described in the post. I believe it was a great price for such an old out of print volume. I cannot speak to the packaging as one of my neighbors to the package from my door and later returned the book without the packaging. I came home to the book laying at my door. This is no fault of the seller.

I was thrilled to receive this autographed copy of Fourteen For Tonight by Steve Allen! As a fan of classic comedy and television history, this 1955 second printing hardcover is a true gem. The book itself is a delightful collection of Steve Allen’s humor, showcasing his wit and charm. It arrived in great condition, well-packaged, and exactly as described. Would definitely buy from this seller again! 👍

  • Immortality refers to being remembered

A lot of insights about the nature of humans. Some of these insights are timeless but there have been changes in modernity as illustrated for example in his discussions of laughter and realty.
