I did not realize it when I purchased this item, but the directional nature of the cutouts on these wheels are asymmetric. Meaning, each wheel's cutout is "swept" in the opposite direction. This means that you can choose which way they sweep points and you do not need to have it sweeping one way on one side, and the other way on the other. The only small change I would make to the design is to add more screws to the outer rings to increase clamping load on the beads
