    A Positive Change in Style

This album is different from the 1980's 'thrash' sounding Anthrax. It's a little slower overall, is more 'metal/rock' , and features the vocals of John Bush instead of Joey Belladonna. Not all fans were into the John Bush era-Anthrax, but I can say that it was still a great sound for this band. This a classic early 1990's metal album and the 'Stomp 442' album with Bush was very good also. Anthrax rocks.

  • very good cd old school thrash/metal i miss the 90's!

highly recommended especially if you're a fan of old school/ thrash/metal from the glorious 1990's. who is'nt a fan of anthrax?! i have always liked joey belladonna, but i also like john bush as well! they both have their distinct styles and energy! almost like david lee roth and haggar, you can't choose a favorite, or maybe you can, but i'll leave that chice up to you! charlies drumming is off the hook as usual and the twin guitars are killer also so if you've never heard this pick it up if you can and you'll be rocking in no time!

  • Better than Belladonna Era

I love Anthrax. The "Big Four" Thrash bands are four of my all-time faves. Unlike most fans of the band, I prefer their replacement (John Bush) for the classic vocalist. (Joey Belladonna) My only previous Anthrax albums were two compilations, Return of the Killer A's and the anthology of the Belladonna era, because they were extremely cheap. To get to the point, The Sound of White Noise will appeal to any thrash lover, and although I'm used to remixes of two of the songs within, they are well-written enough to bring me in to them.

  • Roaring Metal from the East

Sound Of White Noise is speed/thrash metal, filled with tight, angry and original riffs, fast and fluid solos, rumbling and thundering drums with memorable vocals. It's the best ANTHRAX album.

  • Change is a good thing

Sometimes when a band decides to change the vocalist, I cringe. BUT Not in this case. The addition of John Bush to Anthrax, was a good thing. This first album utilizing Bush on vocals is a classic mid-school album from one of the pioneers of speed metal. I had this album on cassette, and was searching for it on CD, but for awhile it seemed to be out-of-print. This is a good album, even if you never listened to Anthrax before this. John Bush's vocals seem to add an emotional context to the songs that Belladonna didn't seem to capture.
