I am currently drilling with it. my water is very close to the surface. i am in a sand layer now. It is nice to only pull the auger each time instead of the entire shaft assembly. It does require some hard work, since it is a manual setup. I give this a thumbs up. thanks

Digs through soil / sand rapidly. In solid clay I got about 3 feet an hour most of the time coming from pulling the auger out and dumping it, not super strenuous. It did take quite a bit longer to ship than expected, and the extension poles come raw steel not painted like the pictures. Would have been 5 stars if those minor things were communicated.

It was originally shipped without tracking but I was able to contact the seller and they made accommodations and tracked it. The other thing is that I didn't think that this item could get here by the promised date, especially coming from Europe but to my surprise it was delivered on time and no hiccups. Very satisfied..
