About this product

Product Information

Alan Lewrie is a scandalous young rake whose amorous adventures ashore lead to his being shipped off to the Navy. Lewrie finds that he is a born sailor, although life at sea is a stark contrast to the London social whirl to which he had become accustomed. As his career advances, he finds the life of a naval officer suits him.

An excellent overall service provided! Competitively well-priced, the item arrived within the prescribed timescale and came exactly as described i.e. brand new and sealed! The seller was prompt and politely informative when responding to an order update. I'd be more than happy to shop here again and can confidently recommend using this vendor!

  • Up there with 'Master and Commander, a tad more lusty and colourful perhaps...

This series is the 2nd best of all the historical fictions set in the Royal Navy of our great great grandfathers day. This one actually goes well and beyond being just another third rate wooden clone of O'Brians masterpiece, like the tedious odious dribble contained in Stockwins abysmal Kydd series for example. Not quite in the literary league of O' brian, bust isn't far off either. Excellent in its own right.
