The antenna had a "plastic" grommet to seal the penetration of the firewall, which could not be fitted because it is made of plastic which cannot be inserted into the hole through the firewall. I had to cut the end off the aerial and remove the grommet (seal), fit the old grommet, and then attach the aerial plug by soldering the wires. The antenna works well after the modifications, but what a hassle!
