      Highway Code and ageism

      Having visited two of her sisters as both rather ill my wife had a lot on her mind and ran a speed camera, thus necessitating a speed awareness course which is a brilliant idea . The acquisition of a modern Highway Code will help bring her more up to date with modern driving practices , her agreeing that it is many years since she has received information on such items as modern road signage and the facts of driving with cyclists on the road who are of course allowed to use the highways with no idea of the dangers of todays traffic and no test or road usage advisory course necessary. At our age , even though no physical or mental problems present we are currently astounded by the cost of fuel and how the insurance companies have increased prices using age as an excuse.       Some things new to me.

      It's a long time since I read the Highway Code booklet all the way through, and things have changed! Most of the changes are obvious, but one or two slight details were news to me. So, I'm very glad to have my copy, and to be able to read through it to update myself!
