In most cases, your OS will auto-detect the adapter and install any necessary driver or other software. In G and B mode, it can achieve up to 54 and 11 Mbps, respectively. Even these lower speeds are fast enough for most activities on the Internet or a LAN. It operates at a 2.4000-2.4835 GHz, which is the standard networking frequency.Wireless modes supported are the ad-hoc and infrastructure modes. Certifications include CE, FCC, and RoHS. Supported security mechanisms include 64-bit and 128-bit WEP and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK. Advanced security options are present, but this TP-Link adapter provides a hands-off experience for the average user.
