Carrion Comfort is the book I fell into where I first discovered Dan Simmons. I absolutely ate it up like a twelve foot long meatball sub. I then set about gobbling up everything he.s written. Song of Kali was the cherry on the top of the sunday as far as I was concerned. Then I bought this signed copy of the original first print hardback. I was very disappointed. I attribute the bland quality of the story to it being his first major novel. Apparently he,s gotten much better at telling a story. Song of Kali lacked the horror and suspense I was looking forward to and the story just kinda meandered along like a tourist in a foreign country. Dan if you are reading this Drood is my next read from you and I am very excited to read this story. I paid a hundred dollars for the signed original of Song of Kali and wish that I had just payed three bucks for the paperback.Read full review
