A Friend Called Anne
In Anne's diary she called this friend Jopie. At last Jacqueline Van Maarsen steps out to talk about her friendship with Anne Frank. Jacqueline was half Jewish and met her friend end at the Jewish Lyceum school. Before the Nazi's came to power Anne attended the Montessori school. Anne had written a letter to her friend but was not allowed to leave it.Jacqueline talks about Anne's boyfriend whose first name was Hello. She said Hello was really interested in Anne's sister Margot. Hello was at the door when the Franks rushed into hiding because Margot had been called up to work in a work camp. Anne had just had her 13th birthday and had left her gifts behind. Very interesting book.
