    EDM-4000B

    The EDM-4000B unit is a very portable unit capable of penetrating almost anything electrically conductive. I have used a tubular electrode to cut thru exhaust valves made of high temperature resistant material with ease. The cutting rate using a 3/8” diameter solid electrode in the otherwise difficult machining effort was impressive, 1/4” deep in five minutes! No need to clean off surface or grind to bare metal, this thing burned thru everything! The water electrolyte used is plain tap water without any additives and as a side benefit there is no heating effect to cause damage or distortion. I’m using this to remove small 1/4” steel studs from aluminum castings. Broken studs are “drilled” with hexagonal electrodes and removed with hex drivers. Accuracy is within .015” of electrode ...
