Arnold Schwarzenegger is perfectly cast as Quaid, a 2084 construction worker haunted by dreams of Mars in this crowd-pleasing science fiction spectacle. Against the wishes of his sexy blonde wife (Sharon Stone), Quaid goes to Rekall, a company that implants artificial memories, so he can "remember" visiting the red planet that is now being settled by human inhabitants. However, Quaid is actually an amnesiac secret agent from Mars--or is he? Enemy agents led by a thug named Richter (Michael Ironside) start trying to kill him before Quaid remembers anything more. Bullets and bone-crunching mayhem follow in large doses as Quaid heads to Mars to deal with mutants, ancient alien races, and Cohagen (Ronny Cox), a greedy capitalist controlling the colonists' air supply, in an effort to remember his real identity. TOTAL RECALL is based on the story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick and was a big box-office hit, helping to firmly establish director Paul Verhoeven as a specialist in darkly satiric, blood-drenched genre films. His next stop: BASIC INSTINCT, also with Stone.

    Audio ok, Video Horrid! However its a GREAT classic!

    I bought this at a local "Wally World" for 15 bucks and I can safely say the quality of this blu-ray transfer is mediocre at best. For the audio I did not notice any major flaws but was sub par. The video had many issues with the quality, for instance you could see burn marks on some of the scenes with lines etc throughout the feature. During some parts of the movie the video quality became so poor that I had to wonder why. Well I believe that since the source of the movie from 1990 is so old that It did not have a very good source. Also I believe that Lionsgate did a lower quality in part to save money but still call it blu-ray, hence the 25gb instead of a dual layer blu-ray disc. If you really love this movie and don't already own I would suggest this, however if you ...

    One of the downright coolest movies EVER

    Total Recall - One of the coolest movies EVER MADE One of the coolest movies to come out in the 90's. Total Recall features Arnie vs Arnie, and has one of the most original plots I've ever seen in an action movie. The action scenes are awesome and the special effects are really good (amazing for their time). The cast is great... Total Recall just kicks butt, plain and simple. Final Verdict: 5/5 Rent or Buy?: Would you buy one of the best cars on the planet? Of course you would, this is one of the best Arnie films ever made, so buy it!
