When the pump has to be replaced the union can be opened eliminating disconnecting the check valve. The pump installed is rated at 1 1/2 HP with a strong discharge. During a recent rain storm the pump ran frequently and Union held firm no leaks.

They put the two epoxy parts in direct contact with each other and you can guess what happens... The epoxy starts to harden while still in the package.
