It's a real good unit. I like all the features and I gave EASE OF USE a yes but the real problem with this unit are the instructions.....the print is so small that with corrected 20/20 vision it's difficult to read so I just push buttons and figure it out. I can not compare it to anything as it replaced my original Radio/Cassette payer 97'. I am happy and with a great price it's all good.

This particular unit came without a remote, which was clearly stated on EBay. Sadly, the remote must be required to turn off the radio because it cannot be shut off manually. My guess is the unit was a refurb and this is why it was returned. An on/off rocker switch was needed to be placed in-line to turn it off. Not exactly what I expected.

Features The Pioneer DEH-1300 CD Receiver is a pretty plain and basic CD receiver; it does not offer MP3 playback or CD controller support (you can’t add a CD changer). The CDs are front loading and the face plate does not move. The receiver does offer nice EQ settings and you are giving 6 presets and you can make your own. The unit powers the speakers with a non-mosfet top power rating of 45w/channel and it has one set of RCA outputs (for attaching an amp) running at 2V It also has a AM/FM radio but it needs an adapter to use it in a GM made car. (I have included the full specs from Pioneer’s website at the end of this review) Installation This was the first real car audio install I have ever done and Pioneer made it easy with there detailed manual. The manual had no mistakes in the wire diagrams and in fact they showed you how to wire an amplifier to the unit. I did run into a problem though, because of the fact I drive a GM car I needed to get a special adapter to use the radio, it was around $20 and I do feel that they should have included it. Sound Quality This is where the unit really shines and let’s be frank here this is the ONLY part that really matters. The unit sounds great; the highs are vibrant, the mids are not muddled as in some other receiver I have heard and the bass, well if you’re a bass fan and your speakers can handle it then you can feel it! Speaking about if your speakers can handle it, well if you’re running from stock speakers, they can’t. Do not get me wrong they still sound great but this unit puts out a lot of power with very little loss of quality (the volume goes to 30 and it sounds great until around 25 which it to loud for most people). In other words if you get this unit you will have to get new speakers to truly understand how great it is. As far as the radio goes, it is very good it gets stations in clearer and faster then my old stock radio did. Other Info The screen is very nice, it gives you all the info you need and it doesn’t get “washed out” in sunlight like other receivers do. The button placement is very intuitive and a piece of cake to use. One thing I was very happy about was that it plays CD-R’s as long as their have .wave’s on them. The unit also plays almost any CD; if you have a CD that is scratched and won’t play in your CD player odds are it will play in this one (I know mine did) Features Supertuner III 24-Station/6-Button (18FM / 6AM) Presets BSM (Best Station Memory) AGC (Automatic Gain Control) CD Track Scan Pause Repeat Random Play Playback Compatible with Digital Audio CD-R (when disc is finalized) 45Wx4 - 4-Channel High Power EEQ Performance Chip 3-Band Equalizer Easy EQ (EEQ) switches 5 Factory, 1 User EQ Presets (Super Bass, Powerful, Natural, Vocal, Flat, Custom) Source Custom EQ Memory (Independent Custom Memory for each source) Selectable Loudness Control (Low/Mid/High/Off) Selectable FIE (Front Image Enhancer) Selectable Fader Control RCA Preouts (x1 pair) (2V) Fixed faceplate Liquid Crystal Display with White LED backlightRead full review
This unit has the nearly legendary Super Tuner III. It does a great job of pulling in marginal stations that stock stereos can't get. It's an easy install on a 99 Saturn SL1 with the right adapters. The audio jack rocks for using any audio player device you have that will use the 1/8 inch jack that it comes with. Great for using for your mobile phone, too!!! The price is right and the specs are pretty good for a stereo at this price. Best of all, it doesn't have an annoying display that's complete with "spinning, flaming logos." It works good. It sounds good. It's got some non-annoying features that work well, too. All in all, I'm happy with this purchase.
My old deck had become nearly useless so I purchased this new Pioneer. Installation went smoothly and it snapped right into the hole when finished and works perfectly. No complaints at all and I' really impressed that something so cheap can work so well.

What a really good deal for previous owners of a Pioneer car stereo system that has issues! The guts and brains of the system are what makes it all work, but of course you have to have the face plate that puts it all together. This item is just what I was looking or when my system bit the big one... Amp Error was the message, I think... Anyway, I truly was pleasantly surprised that this item fit my needs exactly and saved me money as well. I use my car stereo on my lanai (back porch for those who don't know what a lanai is) with a AC/DC converter so if I lose power, I can hook up a 12 Volt battery and still have tunes! Car stereos last better outside as I've tried home stereos outside with terrible results. They last about a month or two and start crackling and having issues...car stereos in an outside, but covered environment work for years! OK, I digress...my main point is that this item works great, replaced my dying/dead stereo and let me enjoy my outside room as it was intended. Thank you!!!Read full review

I used this to replace a faulty tuner/cd player from the 80's. This tuner is much more stable than my previous tuner, meaning that the signal does not cut out like it did on the old. The CD player has not yet scratched any of my CDs. The good: -FM/AM radio -CD player -Aux input(Not yet tested) -Standard single DIN size -Pre-out and amplified out (Meaning that it has its own amplifier but you can still use the non-amplified signal) The bad: -Installation part of manual is very vague -Can be bright -Will take some getting use to controls -Only single CD, no multi-disc Overall, I recommend this based on the price and quality of the product.

the same radio was in a local Wal-mart and was priced at 59.00, I ordered this one to go with my pioneer speakers and it was only 36.00. It was delivered in less than a week, jjst as advertised. Just in cased you didn't know, the remote is seperate, but if your like me and re using it in your mobile rv, then you don't want the clutter of another remote. I reccomend you match the pioneer speaker with the same brand pioneer stereo.

I've always been a big fan of Pioneer stereos, since the 70's with the Super Tuner. I had the 150 in another vehicle and wanted to get another one. I didn't realize this one was an upgrade to the 2018 model, which is a big plus. Very happy with the stereo and the excellent service I received. Definitely a great stereo I you just want something simple, this fits the bill perfectly.

I bought this receiver to use for an in-home audio setup. The FM tuner is more sensitive than most stand-alone FM tuners (except very expensive ones), and having a CD player that also plays MP3-encoded disks provides a great way of reducing piles of separate CDs. Making a car radio work at home takes a little bit of configuration if you want the "memory" to remain when the power goes away (unplugged or power outage), otherwise there's not much to it besides making a case if you want to be elegant. This radio, which is being sold (refurbished or used) by outlets on EBay at a very good price, strikes a good balance between features and cost. Larger and more expensive radios have greater power and more programmable equalizers, but this one provides great listening at a bargain price. Add powered speakers with a sub-woofer (through the auxiliary output jacks), and you can get away with a 1A 12V power pack to make this one work. With regular speakers, a 2A power supply might be advisable.Read full review
