This is the kind of guy I am. This movie is called "Unstoppable" that would mean that it is about something (in this case a train) that cannot be stopped. *SPOILER* it does get stopped, thus, this film should be called "Very Hard To Stop" or "Almost Unstoppable" but NOT "Unstoppable" Yeah, I know.... So this train due to a combination of stupid people and bad luck ends up charging towards a town at 70 miles per hour, but WAIT!!! it is also carrying a few barrels of toxic chemicals (just to make sure the jeopardy is higher) which makes it really hard to stop the train, or if you will (almost) "Unstoppable" Well, the rail company enter into "Road Runner Cartoon" mode in an attempt to stop this train. Oh, I'm sorry, you don't know what "Road Runner Cartoon" mode is? Allow me to explain. Remember in the cartoons where Wile E Coyote has a brilliant plan to stop the Road Runner, yet something weird and unexpected happens, thwarting his otherwise flawless plan, so he decides never to attempt it again? Yeah? Well the train police do that here... a LOT. Now my obvious solution would have been to drop somebody from a helicopter onto the moving train, which they do attempt during in the movie, but something happens and it goes wrong, so they just scrap that idea, never to attempt it again. WHY?? it is a good plan. How about this one... Some police spot a "magic button" on the outside of the train, if it is pressed, the train stops. Sounds good, right? so they attempt to press the button by SHOOTING AT IT (when said button is next to a gas tank) instead of, oh I don't know, driving alongside the train with a pole and pressing it. It is things like this that stops the movie from being "great" and relegating it to merely "good" it seems that Tony Scott (the director) wants to keep the film based in reality (no skydiving onto a moving train like in "XXX" for example) yet in certain places the movie "pushes" the boundaries a touch too much (the train tipping up but still landing down on the tracks) Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of excitement to be had here, especially when the train is heading towards the town and we wonder if the heroes can stop it, but ultimately this is a fun, but flawed action movie.Read full review
Like The Outlaw Josey Wales, this is one of those movies that I've always really liked and just finally decided I had to own it. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, so I don't know about it's condition or bonus features, but I have no doubts it will be fine, like the other 3 movies I have watched have been!

This is an amazing movie about an accident, talent and respect. The big company doesn't respect their experienced workers, the older workers don't repect the younger workers and vice versa, the children don't respect their father, the mom doesn't respect her boyfriend who is only a working man, the office workers don'r respect the young lady coworker who really does all the work. Well, one fine day, they all get to learn a lesson about respect when the pooh really hits the fan, and everything goes wrong. Soon they learn that some regular people were a whole lot smarter, stronger, braver and deserving of so much more respect than they ever gave them.

Unstoppable is actually a true real life monster story about a train let loose on the tracks carrying containers of deadly toxic chemicals and flammable liquid, running thru the rural towns in northern PA. With no one behind the controls and rapidly picking up speed, it's only a matter of time that it will derail, that is if the only 2 guys (1 being force to retiring and the new guy he's training to be his replacement) in their own engine can catch up to it in time. The movie does a good job giving a quick back ground story on the 2 main guys that adds the heart to the movie. You'll be on the edge of your seat watching this movie, and remember that this is true story that actually happen. I watched it about 6 times and still never get tired of it. 1 more thing, this movie works the best with your home theatre sound system because where you hear the train going by, it screams like a monster!Read full review
I do not like blood, guts and eyeball movies, with violence "for no reason" and "curse words" because the characters creators "weren't intelligent enough to use real words." It was nice to sit down and actually watch an exciting, edge of your seat movie with a good ending. Way to go Denzel and Chris, these two worked well together and pulled off a movie the whole family enjoyed "based on true events".
