Prof. Greenberg who gives virtually all the lectures on Music is informative, engaging and outrageous when making a point. Not only does he discuss a composer or compositional style, he explores the earlier tradition against socio-political forces which might influence compositional works. Husband and I listen to talking books in the car, and we have dozens of these across academic fields. While historical ones are best on DVD for additional charts and maps, Greenberg does an excellent job of introducing a listener to a Composer--the rest is up to the listener to listen on his/her own, even to compare different conductors.
