Frankie's father infuses his child with permanent internal conflict, and in his teens, Frankie acts out in violent ways.   • A good film, though not quite befitting its description

    I thought the film was great, honestly. The only problems I had were not with the material itself, just what my expectations were with other reviews and comments that the critics had made about it. It's highly compared to Trainspotting for one, and apart from the fact that it shares a couple actors (not key players, I might add), it's Scottish, and it kind of deals with addiction, it's not quite what the heroine chic audience is looking for, at least that's what I assume. Being a fan of films like This is England, Made in Britain, Romper Stomper, etc., I was looking for a skinhead movie, and to my disappointment, it's only a skinhead film for about 20 minutes, give or take, though the descriptions I'd read on other websites would have you believe ...
