I really wanted to like this radio. Actually I do! I like the sound, the looks, and ability to connect external antennas. I spoke with tech support with the complaint that I get a lot of heterodyning when using an external AM antenna at night. The internal antennas are directional so you either rotate the radio or rotate an external antenna. My external AM antenna has to much gain (passive loop). Good mostly during daytime, but at night, too many signals overwhelm the I.F. causing a whining noise when pulling in weak stations. A strong local station you can find sporadically across the dial. I thought maybe a defect. Contacted official repair resource and they promptly dismissed me as the radio "does not need external antenna" OK! Thank you for your concern. They shouldn't give external AM connections as it leads one to believe the radio can handle adjacent channel rejection better that it can. Stick with the internal AM antenna. An external FM works great. The rare AM enthusiast will be disappointed. Casual user will be impressed. Just buy it!Read full review
