If you haven't been privy to Saturday Night Live's (SNL) bevy of brilliant digital shorts, then you've probably been living under a rock for the past two years. Teaming with some of their superstar friends, Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell have produced some of SNL's best material in years, including "Lazy Sunday." Now Samberg has teamed with Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone to form a fake MC trio called Lonely Island, resurrecting some of Samberg's previous material and delivering an album full of new songs. "Incredibad" is lowbrow, sure, but just as funny as Samberg's digital shorts; it's as if Adam Sandler had decided to release an album full of music, instead of songs intermixed with skits. In addition to favorites like "J**z in My Pants" and "D**c in a Box," there are several new hilarious tracks, the best of which might be "Natalie's Rap," which sees Natalie Portman performing a gangster rap. Some of the songs fall flat (read: "Ras Trent" and "We Like Sports"), but the good material certainly outweighs the bad. Don't be surprised if you get weird looks from the car next to you -- because you're laughing so hard! Thanks for reading. If you enjoyed this review, please vote "yes" at the bottom of this entry. Creative humor at its best! This debut album from the comic geniuses known as The Lonely Island is amazing to say the least. Includes Grammy nominated "I'm on a boat" featuring T-Pain. Hysterical celebrity collaboration including Natalie Portman and Seth Rogan. Hilarious lyrics such as "Boombox" and "Like A Boss".
Loving the comedic work these guys do especially in these rough times. But watching and listening to the Lonely Island and their talent puts a nice laugh and smile to my face. It also brings joy to others I share it with as well. Overall, if your into this sort of comedy which you can find on SNL, then I recommend supporting them with buying this CD!
I bought it after seeing it advertised on Sat. Night Live..Andy Samberg is VERY funny. You cannot have a bad day after listening to this CD. The lyrics are totally wrong but they sing these songs with so much feeling its crazy. My fav is "On A Boat" T-Pain is great! I would recommend this CD to everyone who has to make a boring drive to work and especially if there's traffic..you will not believe the lyrics put to such great melodies. Truly my new favorite
Great music, a fun cd to listen to with a lot of cool colaberations.
