I love my Dell E6230 I bought refurbished about a year ago because its light weight and fast enough for what I do. But since its getting tougher every day to see the 12" screen at my age I decided to get a 24" monitor for the times I'm doing tedious stuff like investment data. My son who uses a Dell laptop for work suggested the dock and it was a great idea. Plenty of ports to do whatever you need. Never thought I could pick one up for $35 and when it arrived I was sort of amazed it was like brand new. Great deal.

Works with my new Dell Monitors (Display Port). Old docking station (without the USB 3.0 designation) could not display onto the newer monitors. Clearly, I'm not using the USB ports to connect the Display Port monitors. But there is "something" different about this newer Docking Station that allows it to work with dual Display Port monitors, whereas my older Docking Station will not. Look for the BLUE USB ports to be sure you have the newer Docking Station.

The best part about a laptop is that you can use them anywhere, the worst part is that the screens are small, the keyboards and track pads not ideal. Solve that with this docking station where you work at a desk. Big monitor, even 2, good key board and mouse, all with a simple click into place. I could live without one, but I don't want to.
