Well, it’s a very well made book. With great pictures and information regarding the history and aspects of both vintage kenner and power of the force 2 star wars figures. As a vintage collector, I found this book as a great guide and physical source. And managed to learn new things not just about these vintage star wars figures, but even about the movies. Although I bought in used condition, it was pretty much mint. The seller was also very cooperative, polite, and patient. Even when I had some shipping information issues, he was patient and helpful. Thank you.

Wow, For a Star Wars Fan going back the beginning of 1977, this a honer to have the opportunity to review such a extensive book. I personally still have all my original Kenner action figures, plus an X-Wing and land speeder still in the original packaging. It can be very over whelming as a collector of the original Kenner era, to differentiate between the 1977-1983 figures from the later Hasbro collections. I always liked the Kenner action figures and ships better than the Hasbro, because the Kenner collection had a more of a Star Warsy feel that the Hasbro did. When the Special Edition was released in 1995, more action figures were designed by Kenner and Hasbro than the original 1977-83 era. So, how does a collector decide what he or she wants to buy or not to buy. Well, you buy this book! How does this book help collectors that are especially interested in a specific era of figures and vehicles. It is a time line based book, sectioning off the the figures into history based, upon not just from the movies, but the books, games, and other spinoffs in the Star Wars universe. The book contains photos of almost every figure you can imagine, plus new ships and combo packs. The photos have cool graphics illustrating the year and month, of which any specific item was released to the stores. Not only are groups of figures highlighted, but specific characters such storm troopers and Jawas, with film clips of the actual characters comparing the figure to movie character. "Action figures Past and Present"is a timeline based chart starting in 1978 and ending up at 1998. Each era charts a figure by the name, card type, card photo and figure variation. This chart can be found in the back of the book, which is sort of a rolling credits for action figures. Prices and values of figures are not covered by this book, its more of a collectors book rather than a "I want to sell and make a lot of money book. It could be a money making book by the fact that it helps educate the collector, so he or she knows exactly what they do or don't have in there possession. That's half the battle of Hoth. I purchased this book for 7.655 republic credits, which converts to $2.27. Pay Pal needs to come up with some kind of conversion chart to help us Star Wars Geeks, when purchasing our important and much needed items. And then there's shipping, DO NOT USE ANY Trade Federation transports they will misplace your package.Read full review
