Some of the original packaging was missing but not really a problem. I did some initial testing & everything works fine. I intend to hook it up to my existing layout & give it a complete workout. Feedback on MTH DCS Train Interface Unit.
The DCS TIU is a state of the art train control unit for MTH PS 2.0 and 3.0 model trains; as well as older conventional engines. It allow the remote to communicate with the engine thru multiplexing on the rails. For those with conventional trains, it will control them as well thru track voltage. For Lionel TMCC/Legacy trains it can control them as well, but it requires in-depth knowledge to hook it up properly for Lionel trains. The manual gives some information for non-MTH train types, but other information is required in order to perform these lash-ups properly. I am able to run both old conventional Lionel and new modern MTH O gauge engines simultaneously. These item met my specific requirements. So much fun controlling trains with PS2 and all the effects the train has. Able to run dozens of trains on one track at the same time. Each train is uniquely configured and you can take control of it or all of them at the same time. Easy to use with just a little instruction from the detailed users manual.
