The first 5" GPS was great so I bought a second 6" one for work. (I work as a driver) Display, audio, directions, traffic, maps and ease of use are all on point. Occasional bugs are easy fixed with a soft reset. Wifi (hotspot) phone connection for traffic has been very good and stable. Far more reliable than bluetooth, which requires a hard reset if it fails to connect. My new unit had an expiry date for traffic. A common error. Just call support and they correct it to lifetime status for you in a few minutes. No notice for hook turns in the CBD, but that's ok. Just look for the signs. The current vehicle speed is easy to read right next to current limit, and along with everything else, way better than a navman. My work supplies navman GPS units with vehicles and I simply unplug them and bring my own TomTom with me, which is better in every way, from better, faster actual directions right down to the nicer build quality and screen feel. You can enter addresses normally instead of being forced backwards like a navman. It predicts while you type and often suggests the correct address halfway through entering. The zoom is also way better and switching between 3D and 2D birds eye view is a great feature that I use all the time. Night mode is very neat and easy on the eye. On a recent trip to the forest, I was directed along a seemingly slightly longer route. Meeting other people there, many were late, having come from a opposite driection and got bogged on a huge gravel / muddy hill due to google maps directions. Things like this make me very happy with my purchase. Map and speed cam updates are very simple just connecting over home or phone wifi. I would recommend these systems to anyone. Proven trustworthy and reliable for a solid 2 months and counting of rather demanding driving work. Very much appreciated. Can't say the same for others that I have tried out. Even just a phone would be better than them. Have no experience with Garmin, so I cant comment, but for all I can tell they seem ok. Peace everyone and safe driving. I have had other navigation systems but the TomTom is the best I've used. Why- I love the ease of set up connection to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to my phone with Apps. It just does it all with smooth easy to follow consecutive steps for set-up. It can update on my home Wi-Fi -real fast for speed camera's / maps everything and bonus lifetime maps. So far it has not led me astray and I just love the display and directions. Display is great size and 3D view are excellant. Great having the speed limiter and speed display as well as regular camera updates. I can talk hands free which I love through the device as I have an older car (1967) so it's not just a map reader but provides accurate speed read outs for old MPH car. I liked it better than the Garmin and the Navman because it not only looks better with a bigger screen but after my research I couldn't match the price for you get. The only extra thing I brought was an extra charging USB cable $14 so I can charge and update in house as I wish. And I love the way the device clicks in- magnetized clip- - no wires brilliant- 2 seconds I can unclip the device and no one can steel it. Would thoroughly recommend this device.Read full review
