The phone was a little harder to set up until I figured out some of the quirks that were not explain in the on line instructions or maybe I missed them. The reason I have rated the phone 4 stars is the phone was originally based in India or South Africa . One of the down loaded apps is African and South Africa news and some other apps are Indian based. Other than these, I really like the phone. It is the right size for the shirt pocket, it holds a charge for a long time and once you get used to it, it is easy to use. I was really excited about using the google assistant, but once I added a weather app and some others, I don't use it very much. I don't use any social accounts so the phone having face book and twitter doesn't excite me. Also I don't text so I have no complaints about that. The phone makes calls which it does well and I can hear and be heard and that is what is important. The rest is icing on the cake.Read full review

Longtime flip phone user here. Product came in new condition as described. This does everything I want a flip phone to do and then some, but it isn't without quirks. The predictive texting on this phone feels years behind the standard T9 that was so common on phones in the 2000s and into the 2010s. For example: contractions aren't in the dictionary and are difficult to add. You're better off saying can not in stead of can't. Also, punctuation is sloppy. To add a period, you can't simply press 1, you must press * to open the symbol menu and select a period. One nice feature is the talk to text feature. It's capable of capturing fairly complex sentences and getting them right most of the time. Calls sound clear. There is a bit of lag when you type or enter a number (noticeable, but not too bad). When the phone auto-updated the time for daylight savings time, it correctly updated the time on the front screen of the phone, but didn't update the large clock display on the phone's main screen, so I had to turn the large main screen clock off in the menu. There is a very small clock display in the upper right corner of the main screen that is correct. Overall, it's good. It does the things, and if you want to have a smart phone you can go get one, but if flip phones are your thing, this will probably do what you want with an occasional minor annoyance that won't bother you too badly because you wouldn't be buying a flip phone if you really really cared about functionality. KaiOS is right. It's got more apps and data burning functions than I wanted. Like another review above wrote, you'll need to get AT&T to lock out the internet and youtube stuff to prevent unwanted charges ..phone and text is ALL I need and the texting is bad...no reply feature and the next word guess feature can't be turned off and is a big problem when all I want is to type a short message. The display only lets you put wallpaper and the clock on. Won't let me remove internet icons from screen. Very few positive features for my uses. Bigger key pad

Bought this for my mom, who doesn't use smartphones. The 4052R is super easy to set up and use, has large, easy-to-press buttons and nice, readable displays. It has a decently solid feel to it, so it should survive the occasional fall. We upgraded from an older Alcatel flip phone and I could instantly hear a big improvement in the call quality. Battery life seems very good so far and I like that the 4052R supports 4G. AT&T branded, but using it on Cricket (which uses AT&T's network) with absolutely no issues. Really good prices on these now, too.

Menu function very challenging for a senior citizen. Once phone is set up, good sized numbers and color coded on/off makes the phone a good option for an 87 year old.

Good phone if you need a smartphone detox. I wanted this in order to be able to access maps, and the simple directions are fine for me (I don't have a problem paying attention to street signs). This also works great as an mp3 player, and loads music from an sd card. I don't like texting on it but the dictation feature is great. Everything loads pretty fast, much better than the flip 2, which I tried a few years ago but couldn't stand. The period tracker and weather app I installed both work nicely. If I could erase apps like youTube I'd be even happier.

I used it to replace the same one in which I broke the screen. It was easy to switch cards in the phone to put it service. Its a phone that works and no one would ever hold you up or try to steal it from you. I wear it on my belt in a case.

I am very pleased with the phone. I am not interested in carrying a phone the size of a tablet. This does the job. Can make calls easily and no complications with its use. The battery life seems good for my level of use, which is not heavy.

Good, cheap sturdy phone that easily fits in your pocket. Does exactly what it ought to do. (But I reused my own SIM card from the previous phone instead of the pre-paid one?) Very satisfied.
