These guides are very helpful for playing and DMing. I am currently in a 2nd edition campaign as a cleric of Calladuran Smoothhands. I had volume 2 originally and have since picked up Vol. 1 & 3 to round it out. The 1st two vol. have spells. Vol.3 finishes off the spells and has a lot of lists and groupings in it. But now instead of having multiple books out at the game table, I have these 3 and a list of where my spells are so I can find them much easier. Plus with having spells from not only different realms, but things like Dragon, it really rounds out your casting options. Originally they were expensive and you'll probably find them online between $20-$30 dollars. If you want spells at your fingertips I highly recommend these & the Wizard ones too. drew
A must have for 2nd edition - broadens the spell capabilities of priests - excellent, a must have. Priests are slightly underpowered in 2nd edition, especially when compared to wizards at the same level. You can put extra priest spells on scrolls and introduce them into the game as bonus spells given by the god's - I generally allow priests to utilize any spell in the PHB as KNOWN spells by all classes of priests - The other spells are more rare and are not known by general priests - unless they happen to find a scroll from some forgotten time with a prayer for a unique spell or power - once known the priests can continue to pray for these rare spells. I ramble on - it contains all those spells that TSR has published over the years - some are pretty unique - if you think a prayer is too powerful - don't introduce it into the game.Read full review
