Still has me as a fan.

Happy with this movie. Doesn't tie into the next one Rogue One and actually liked this movie better than the two watched back to back nights. Waiting for the latest that came out in Dec. 2017 to hit the DVD/Blu-Ray Disk buy. We live remote rural area with little chance of seeing theater releases. So have to wait for the Disks to hit the market. Ebay is our number one place to buy most of our featuers and TV series disks for binge watching. This movie was pretty high hold on to your seat action. Loved it even though Husband is 80 and I'm not far behind. We like action movies and not enough are made these days like the Indiana Jones and Star War series. Not into the marvel comic's. Miss Romancing the Stone kind of movies too. But yes this was tops.

    Disappointing script, awesome EFX realism

Script is just simply pretentious in a obvious overt re-hashing the original Star Wars movie and its script script which covers the "Awakening of The Force in Luke Skywalker": This film's script with nothing but some small diversionary change ups in the plot and characters here and there, is essentially the same story from the first film re-told. JJ Abrams brought terrific realism to the sets and the film however. best looking realistic EFX /cinematography Stars Wars film ever so far. It did not have that heavy with "composite gamer like CGI animation" like the last three films Lucas made...ships looked more real than any other film, like they were of metal and had weight and less like big or little plastic composite enhanced modeling. The look, EFX, and the cinematography was spectacular, ...

  • Original Star Wars Fan

After having loved the original trilogy and then reluctantly watching the disastrous next 3 (absolutely horrible), I watched this only after hearing excellent reviews from my nephews who are 2nd generation S.W. geeks. I was not disappointed. Although, there were some things I would have done differently, they hit a home run (not grand slam) with this one. Thoroughly entertaining and well done, with emphasis on character development and much less CGI and child-like creatures, a la Jar-Jar Binks (I shudder just thinking about it)!

  • The First Movie re-Awakens

J.J. Abrams et al bring back the original formula of wit and adventure, good versus evil, as we watch the force awaken in the dark and the light. This 3 disc set with added download code is a great value, and we really enjoyed the extras.

  • Star Wars IV Redone as Star Wars VII

I loved Star Wars IV, but thought the acting was a bit immature. Star Wars VII has basically the same plot with a much more mature cast of actors. Old man Harrison Ford is much more the actor than youngster Harrison Ford! The visuals, music, and over-all production was fabulous. I can't wait of VIII, but I do hope they advance the story next time.
