I have been building small block Chevrolet racing engines since 1971. That said, I learned a great deal to increase the horsepower in my future builds. The sections on camshafts, intake manifolds and header/collector sizes and lengths is worth the price of this book, and so much more is included in these pages.

I built a 406 from plans in the book. It is the most incredible engine, I've ever known, and not just cause it's my own. :)
Power is incredible. I used Dart Iron Eagle heads, instead of World Products Spotsman heads. I did my own pocket porting according to the book. Scat crank, Keith Black pistons, 6" rods, Performer intake, and Accel distributor. Took the cam recommendation from Danny Wychoff, in Ariz, as the book suggested. Danny resurfaced a set of hard faced lifters for me. I couldn't be happier. I wore out the 78 Chev 4WD truck completely, and pulled the engine with the 4-core radiator, and I still have it. It was an amazing experience, doing the build, and the breakin, then driving it for some 45,000 miles. I'm almost 71 yo, but it makes me feel like a kid again. lol
