After a decade of successful coin-op hits and many years of PlayStation-exclusive (and later, Xbox) home releases, Konami's genre-founding Dance Dance Revolution series comes to a North American Nintendo console for the first time, hosted by a cast of favorite franchise characters. As in earlier versions of DRR, Mario Mix players interact with the game through a floor mat controller, and are challenged to step to the beat of a song while following a succession of directional prompts that scroll up the screen. The game's soundtrack features over two dozen songs, including both pop hits and reworked themes from classic Nintendo games. Five levels of difficulty are available, and like many earlier editions, DDR: Mario Mix also features a "Workout" mode, which estimates the number of calories a player burns while dancing. This edition of the game comes packaged with a GameCube-compatible "Action Pad" floor mat controller.

    Great game at a great price!

    Great game for those who grew up on Nintendo and want to get into DDR without buying a Playstation. It's also great for DDR noobz because it has easy levels that provide some very basic practice. You won't find comparably easy levels on Playstation DDR games. The super hard levels will still provide a challenge for experienced players. Most of the songs are remixes of songs from older Mario games (upping the nostalgia factor). Like all DDR games, it's great exercise without feeling like exercise. Since is a GameCube game (played on a console that uses AV cables), the graphics aren't great. Who plays DDR for the graphics anyways? You have to play Story Mode to earn songs - which is obnoxious. The storyline is very cheesy and forced, and it takes way too long to go through all the ...
