    Netgear AC1200 WiFi Range Extender

I purchased this used and saved about $25 from the average price. Typically with electronics they either work or don't work, so I don't have any problem buying used. We have a brick home and my main office is in an addition on the back of the house, so there is a brick wall between the office and most of the house. Although I have a good quality router in the office, the signal is weak and unreliable at the far end of the house and in the garage. I wanted to use another computer, a laptop, and a wireless printer in my garage for shipping packages for a 2nd business, so I placed the range extender in our kitchen which is adjacent to the garage. Now I have a great signal throughout the entire home and in the garage. Installation was easy and I highly recommend this product.

    Instructions???

I've desperately needed a mesh wi-fi system for my place as my cable and wifi is constantly dropping out This has been a nightmare, litterly for years. So I broke down and purchased this unit praying it would bring some normalcy to my life. Yes the unit looks good but NO instructions where sent and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to hook it up to my system. Seriously??? Hours have been spent in the last week or so attempting to log on. I want to scream. I don't have any one to ask to help me either. Really??? Please please don't assume someone understands how to hook this stuff up. Jeez... PS I've tried Netgear's website, youtube and asking a neighbor KL

  • Could be difficult setup with more than one extender in network

Extender works as designed, but setup was complicated. I have an existing extender and added this unit to a bedroom. The problem I had was getting my router to recognize both extenders. I finally figured out how to do this, and both extenders are working.

  • Useful product with an excellent price.

This wifi extender provided a useable signal on the third floor in my house. It works with both 2.4 and 5.0 bands. The price was excellent.

  • Easy setup

Nice easy setup. Just touched the wps button on router and extender and both broad bands were setup. Fast shipping too. Great value!

  • Great signal boost across an old house!

I have an older 2 story house with the office and internet connection on the first floor in a back corner. When my wife wanted to Zoom from her studio in the opposite corner of the 2nd floor she couldn't get a stable connection. The NETGEAR EX7000 was just the ticket to boost the signal through the old plaster walls! My wife is so happy and as we all know when the wife is happy everybody is happy!

  • It works, as long as you know how to set it up

OK, if you are not a techno-head, you might have a problem setting this thing up. On the other hand, I had a more techno-savvy person at my disposal, and I did a few things right, and he sort of finished it off. Bottom line, it works great, between the basement and upstairs (this unit is on the first floor, in between). As long as you are smart enough to connect this thing (which I was not, but then, I am an old 65 year old fart), this is a nice product, and it will do you well. Peace and love, John

  • Worth it but frustrating

had to call Netgear for assistance. It would not link up and was Very frustrating. I finally reached someone who was very familiar with the product and was walked through the set up. It had to be reset several times before it would hook with my router. The instructions should be made clearer and online help sends you to multiple sites. All in all I spent well over and hour on the phone with support trying to resolve the issue. Glad it comes with that help.

  • It works mysteriously ?!?

The WiFi extended works however like other reviewers the online setup instructions are sketchy as the unit NEVER responds as per setup guide. Eventually through continued trial and error, BOOM!…it will work?!? I’ve split a distance of just over 100’ with the extender. It is about 50’ (in my attached garage) from my router and the extender is about 50’ from my barn.
