Original Poldark series
I received the set quickly. The used discs were in great condition. There was some damage to one of the cases but that wasn't a problem. Since I love the new Poldark series, and have read the books twice, I was curious to see the original. It isn't as great as the current one but it's well worth watching. Robin Ellis isn't as handsome as Aidan Turner and I question the choice of actress for Elizabeth since she's supposed to be so beautiful. Not so in the old series. Demelza also comes across very childlike at times. Overall, it's good though, especially by 1975 standards.

Nice price but not so great content
Very, very stiff characters compared to the current remake. Why Poldark would fall for such a cold fish is beyond both my wife and me. Bought it on a recommendation that I'm now wondering about. The price was nice, but the content left us cold.

Poldark
Saw this many years ago on PBS and loved it. Just finished binge watching over the past 3 days and love it still. The camera work, film and video tape, are a bit dated and some of the acting is over the top but the story is so engaging and Robin Ellis and Angharad Rees are so appealing that it's hard to resist. Love it!

Not Quite The New Poldark But Still Good
I saws the original Poldark when it was broadcast in the 70's. The new version is more polished and more believable but the original is still very good and well worth seeing.

Poldark the 1970's version
This version is not as good as the current Poldark on PBS. The characters are not as into the story as the remake. Looks a lot like a stage show. Everyone walking on stage and off stage. It was interesting in that you will get a chance to draw comparisons between the two. And the music is a 2 on a ten scale.

Love Both Versions!!!!
Decided to buy the original to see if it was as good as I remembered when PBS began airing the new version!!! ~ I love both versions but I'm kinda partial to Robin Ellis and so happy I can watch whenever the mood strikes me!!!!!!!! GREAT Series and I Highly recommend it!!!!

Great entertainment
We watched the original on PBS when it came out in 1975. It's wonderful to be watching it again. Sometimes older movies lose their style because of changing preferences. This is just as refreshing as when we first saw it. 29 hours of total enjoyment. I hate Warleggan ( a character in the show) just as much now as I did then.
