Bread machine arrived carefully packed in multiple layers of bubblewrap, 2x thickness box & packing peanuts. Shipping was very fast. Item appears to be well taken care of and only flaw I could see was the nonstick starting to come off one of the kneaders. 4 hours after it arrived, I had delicious fresh-baked bread. I even happened to have Irish butter in the house—yum! Seller took good, informative photos & tested machine which allayed any fears of buying an older unit. A+++

Seller was extremely fair when package was delayed by USPS (no fault of the seller) and offered a refund. Item eventually arrived just as described. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

great printer; reliable and economical to operate

The first one of these I had lasted 13 years. When it finally started to fail, I bought another one. It's been a very reliable printer for me, and I like that toner cartridges and toner refills and replacement drums are cheap. It's a tad tricky to set up under Linux, but eventually worked for me after (a) resetting network settings to factory default, (b) hooking it up to a network with a DHCP server, (c) booting the printer with the Ethernet plugged in, (d) waiting a few minutes, (e) printing a settings page and observing the IP address assigned, then (f) configuring the printer via Linux printer settngs.

  • reliable, low per-page cost

The biggest advantage of this printer is that cheap toner is available. Also, although the printer will stop working and insist that you replace the toner prematurely, it is easy to override this, and so get maximum use of the toner cartridge. Paper jams are rare. Print quality and speed are adequate, though probably you can do better if that's a priority. I purchased a printer with an A4 tray, and replaced it with the letter-size tray from my old printer. Same size tray, and I didn't have to change any settings to get it to recognize the new tray. The used printer I purchased had a static IP address. In order to get it to work on my home network, I had to reset to factory settings. Information on how to do this is on the web, and in the service manual.

  • Economics

I have bought 2 Brother printers for less than $60 and they have been good. I paid $125 for this one which was refurbished. Brother has new ones for half this price but the changed the toner cartridge so it will not work in my old printers. I print copies for older people in my area that can't afford computers and we have no daily newspaper. I feel like I was forced to pay twice the new price so I could use toners I have stocked up before my printer malfunctioned. I am just an 86 year old trying to help others.

  • Great printer; Set up using Brother's driver, not Windows "Plug n Play driver.

This printer is very good. However, it has Terrible support. At least my experience was terrible. First, it took significant time to find out how to connect my printer wirelessly to my home network without using a computer as a "server" (Meaning it had to be on to for the attached printer to print), or needing to move the printer near to the pc so I install it using a USB cable temporarily. Once I figured that out, it worked fine. Or at least it did until I tried to print duplex. When i did that, the printer would start but not even feed paper, claiming I had a paper jam. Fact is, I didn't. After several tries at getting support to fix this, the recommendation was "Take the printer to an authorized service shop". Problem was, even though it was a new printer, i didn't come from an ...
