Great little SLR
If you can find one for a reasonable price and still enjoy shooting film, this is a great option to mount modern lenses and get modern features. My particular body does seem to have issues recognizing when the lens auto focus is switched back on from manual mode. I bought this camera on ebay for my camera collection. Being used it has a couple of issues that make it unreliable if it were to be used full time.. Since it is only for display, I will not be running any film through it. Best EF mount 35mm film camera value! No contest. Seriously. With reliable AF, easy functions, built in TTL flash, auto winding, excellent metering, tons of advanced features in a lightweight body, and a full detail LCD readout on the film back, this Rebel Ti stands to be THE best film camera canon ever made in the rebel line. But it doesn't stop there...this camera has a metal lens mount. Most rebels have a plastic lens mount. This means that for many enthusiasts with professional EF glass (especially that heavy telephoto stuff) looking to re-engage with film photography, this is the most cost effective way to enter the space. With autofocus and all the smart features at your fingertips, you'll still retain auto focus, and other DSLR familiarities without any compromises. Think you want to go higher up the range and get an A2E? A2? EOS 5? Elan 2e? Elan 7e? Well just chill out unless you wan to spend 3x to 5x the money. My Elan 7e is a dream of a camera, and so is my EOS 5...but it can't work with my Tamron 3rd party lenses, or my modern canon L series lenses. This Rebel Ti works fine with all of them - including lens stabilization and servo AF. For anyone with a modern EF lens set, just pick this camera up for a fraction of the cost. A nice compact transitional film camera
I happen to have accumulated a good few Canon EF and EFS lenses. I shot a couple if rolls on this camera. Nice quality look good on my computer, haven't made any large prints, but I'm sure the would be good. I like the size and weight of this one. The price for the camera was good. The lens is not. You knew the lens wouldn't match the camera but you tossed it in anyway to make seem like a deal.
