Love the design / easy to use / Great for Mobile Use

Ok I use this in the car - so much easier than any other scanner to use while driving. Works well - suction cup mount available - easy to setup and get going. I also have the BCD536hp - and its reception ability is superior to this unit. But if just using around town - this unit works great - in a fringe area - I suggest the 436/536 units. Did I say how easy it is to use? Also id does the latest Phase II of P25.

  • Nice Scanner

I've used scanners for many years and since I upgraded to this scanner from my old Uniden, WOW! what a difference. I love the fact that all I had to do was put my zip code in to the scanner and all my local channels are there. No need to program each channel by hand anymore. I will say this, being a little computer savvy helps because you really do need to plug it into your computer and download the latest updates after downloading Sentinel to your computer. Although this isn't necessary, it will help with programming and avoiding unnecessary frequencies you may not need or want. Overall this scanner is awesome and I am very pleased with it.

  • HomePatrol-2 is a breath of fresh air in scanning!

The homePatrol 2 can do many things that are advanced and finally with ease for the user. Quite simply all you need to do is enter your zip code and you can listen to virtually anything you want: police, fire, EMS, utilities, and so on. Many scanners today still require you to manually program them after you spend $500. Outrageous! This radio is easy to use and your up and running in minutes. Recommend getting the satellite antenna if you plan to use for travel and it will change locations on its own. A great buy!!!

  • Light weight, easy to move from house to my vehicle.

I haven't had it long enough yet to really give a good review, but i pretty much just plugged it in, charged up the batteries and started listening. I have a metal roof, and I i'm looking for a 25' piece of the small diameter coaxial cable to get the antenna above my roof line where it should pick up 10 times what i'm getting now. Other than that i'm looking forward to years of listening. Patrick

  • Good value

It’s a good scanner easy to use and definitely user friendly. Only down side is the charge only last about a good 4-5 hours. That might just be the batteries it came with. I’m gonna up grade them to a better rechargeable battery. We will see how it goes then.
