Ordered this to use in my Tai Chi class and wanted something other than spring steel or flexible steel. Description said "carbon steel", BUT, it actually is *stainless steel*. If it was carbon steel I'd have to spend a lot of time cleaning it. Stainless is better (blood can't stain the sword - LOL! (only kidding)). Was really pleased with the quality of the sword and surprised that the scabbard had a slit in it. I was doubtful at first but after consulting with a fellow student who has a 3rd degree black belt realized that this was actually better for use in a fight (may that never happen!)

This is a great sword. This is a step up from the Ox-tail flexible swords. This is a great sword to build up the entire arm muscles. My weapon students actually use this sword and go through the exercises as a warm up and then they switch to the Ox-tails and you can see the difference. It's like walking slow with five-pound ankle weights and then taking them off and running. You see and feel the difference! This is a great buy!!!!!!!!! ASP KING FU.

Good quality broadsword. It's just a bit heavy - you'd need to have a strong hand/wrist to wield it. The stainless steel blade is pretty sharp - like real weapon - it can cut deep wounds, so I had to return it out of safety reasons.
