I am African american and I only wash my hair once every 5 days, so it is too soon to give any reasonable review at this time. I do notice that with my hair type, that the product tends to dry my hair out, so, I also use a moisturizing conditioner for black hair after I use the Nioxin products on my hair.

I' lost most of my hair a long time ago due to male pattern baldness, so I don't expect this to work any miracles. However, I can say my scalp feels extremely clean and tingly after using the shampoo and conditioner and after using both for several weeks some chronic problems (tight, itchy scalp, occasional scabbing and flaking) have completely cleared up. I honestly don't know if the third bottle (the scalp treatment) makes a difference but I am definitely sold on the shampoo and conditioner and would recommend them to anyone with scalp problems.
