First things first - this is an old model by comparison to today market, must be 2004 vintage. Though this cameras performance is still fantastic. Casio teamed up with Canon, who provided the optics for this prosumer model to great applause! 4 times optical zoom, 7MP sensor (more than enough! Don't get hung up on big pixel counts!) and a proper eyepiece to look through - though the higher ISO performance might not be quite as good as more modern compacts, is perfectly adequate. Its not quite as compact as current Exilims, but then this was the performance model in its day offering full manual control on every aspect with a very fast start-up time & neglible delay on the shutter button. Sure the LCD screen isn't very big or 'touchscreen', but trust me, look at your shots on a computer monitor and you'll be blown away! There's neat function to shut the display off too, which I'm sure saves battery life - great for darker shots when you don't need that intrusive light in your face! I'm just glas I got this when I did, they don't appear on the 'Bay' very often - my brother is still using his which he bought new, and has survived the ravages of his two kids admirably and followed their lifes to date!Read full review
I have found this camera to suit my needs perfectly, all the adjustment, fexability and picture quality of an slr in a semi compact form factor, this camera is incredibly well made with rock solid build quality far exceeding that of most modern compacts, Its only down side that I have found to date is that being a slightly older camera it will only recognise the FAT16 file system which limits you to a maximum of a 2gb sd card (I beleve), Over all the best quality highest featured compact I have ever used. It does beg the question why you would ever want to pay through the nose for a traditional digital "bridge" camera, when the casio EX-P700 does it "all" and still manages to fit in your pocket.
