I was a little hesitant to purchase this camera. I had looked at specs and reviews for a long time, but I couldn't find a store in my area that carried it, and I wanted to play with the settings and see if I liked how it worked before I purchased it. Eventually I decided to just purchase the camera. I knew that I wanted it because of it's durability and usability, but I wasn't sure I would like how the settings were arranged. What I like about the camera: this is a sturdy camera, the waterproof feature works great and the picture quality seems really good. The settings I found are really pretty easy to use and there are a wide variety of things that you can adjust manually. each setting has it's own little explanation as to the best way to use the presets and the organization is actually fairly easy to get used to. Things I dislike about the camera: So far I haven't really found anything to really dislike about the camera it is a little bit on the high price range, but it compensates for that with quality and usability. I used to have a Canon ELPH which I really liked, I like to be able to set the settings and mess around with a picture. My ELPH was stolen and that is why I started looking at new cameras this camera ended up costing about the same as my ELPH. It seems to far surpass the ELPH with it's ability to be used in practically any situation. The camera is a bit bigger than the ELPH but it is a really sleek design and really is a good camera. I just used this on my cruise to the Bahamas it worked wonderfully and helped me to capture in pictures and video that which would have been left to memory otherwise. The video is clear and very true to color, pictures were clear and vivid. I'm very glad that I purchased this camera.Read full review
Main selling point for me was the waterproof and shockproof; so I could take it on rafting and booting trips. From that standpoint, it is great! No issues with being submerged in water for long periods. It takes both photos and HD video and in good lighting both are very good for a small point and shoot camera. One has to remember that this does not have a large moving lens, so the pics are great considering the small lens it has. But if you want perfection, then move up to a camera without the waterproofing and buy a camera with a lot better lens. I had bought a $80 waterproof camera first and was dissatisfied, but this one is much better and worth the money for the sports enthusiast. Battery lasts a reasonable long time and with 32GB cards, you get 30 min of HD video or about 3000 pics.
Bought this camera for a trip to the Florida Keys. Great little camera, lots of features and settings, haven't used it underwater yet though, took it in the Key West Butterfly Conservatory with me and it took really nice macros. Own another Lumix camera so I know what great cameras they make.
