FOR ANY DAVID MCCALLUM FAN, THIS IS THE BEST.. I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF HIS FROM THE MAN FROM UNCLE TO NCIS. I ACTUAL STILL OWN THE 45'S, AND I OWN SEVERAL OF HIS INSTRUMENTAL ALBUMS. SINCE RECORD PLAYERS ARE BASICALLY OBSOLETE, I LOVED THE FACT THAT I COULD PURCHASE THEM ON A CD. EXCELLENT QUALITY. BOUGHT BACK SO MANY MEMORIES.......
McCallum's father was "in the business". Except for a couple of trys at singing early on this is essentially an instrumental orchestrated covers CD of the current pop hits at the time. David Axelrod without the songwriting originality but worth the admission price for the arrangements.
The CD re-issue of the classic mid-1960s David McCallum recording is a solid soundtrack to the man most people know as Ilya Kuryakin from the cult tv show "The man from Uncle". McCallum, however, is not only a classicly trained actor but also a very refined musician. With this CD, it is possible to catch a glimpse of his musical approach to some of the era's greatest hits like the Rolling Stones "(I can't get no) satisfaction". The sound quality is solid, so are the liner notes and the experience to "Open Channel D" is quite worth the buy.
