Got this unit to replace a similar unit which had gone bad. Just a matter of switching units. This unit is excellent but is only for use with a Sony satelite ready radio. Sirius xm is replacing this unit with a universal tuner interface. Seems useless to get old setup with new technology available from Sirius

I used this as an add-on to my Sirius ready aftermarket JVC receiver in my truck and it works flawlessly. The best part is, my cab is clutter free, and I can enjoy the benefits of satellite radio without the addition of another object attached to my dash. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Although this is basically a Sirius "discontinued" product, it was exactly what I needed to incorporate Sirius Radio into my 2014 motorhome which is equipped with a Clarion Nav/Multimedia entertainment system. Despite being a fairly new RV, manufacturers of RV's are prone to use older entertainment technology rather than the newest offerings. I'm guessing they get great deals on several year-old head units. I wanted a "clean" installation and the ability to control all Sirius functions from the menus of the Clarion, not dealing with a separate control head like I had in my last RV. I did have to install a mirror-mounted Sirius "Trucker-style" antenna, but the unit works very well and with very few signal "dropouts". In the end I am very pleased with the outcome and hope it will serve me well for years (and many travel miles) to come.Read full review
I purchased a 1985 Corvette that had a satellite ready radio but still needed the part SCC1 and an attachment cable to work. Now I have a 85 Vette with XM/Sirius radio and can listen to real tunes while cruising.
