      Hefty weight, but to be expected ...

      Seems heavier than a similar 2000 watt unit which was used for over a year to power 120VAC kitchen appliances in Hungary. It ended up blowing a fuse because of an internal short, but since it inadvertently got splashed with some water near the sink during dish washing, it eventually took it's toll. We have moved this unit to a 'dryer' location on the counter, so hopefully it will survive the kitchen assaults. It does have a slightly louder 'hum' than the older 2000 Watt unit did (same brand). It also tends to pop the circuit breaker every 3rd or 4th turn on .... This can be overcome by putting in a longer delay circuit breaker so it is not as sensitive to transient loads.
