As some reviewers mentioned, the blade holding screws were a bit tight, but loosened up after backing them out and running them in. I added two small washers outside of the blade retainer, and it tightens down just fine. my first two cuts in 1/16" balsa were perfect! I set up the cuts on a piece of pine lumber, and was able to make a stack of 1/16" square strips in no time.

  • It looks promising but I've had no succsess with it making the boards I want

i got this to use making balsawood boards for a 1/35th scale floor. I find the knife is rather exposed and hard to position so it won't cut the user. I've attempted on two occasins to cut boards for the floor and both times the balsawood split before I finished making the cut. I think if I were to use this to make floor boards out of balsawood I'd haved more scrap than usable material. It is my opinion only maybe someone else has had better luck with it. I haven't binned the product but it is in the bottom of a drawer were I put things I don't use. The two things I'm concerned with are the knife blade is exposed and there doesn't seem to be any way to adjust it when you are making cuts the blade is sticking well below the wood and you need to prop it on something to make the cuts. • Good product.

Excellent tool for small but precise jobs while modelling. Price point was perfect by comparison to similar products. Highly recommend!!

  • Does job

It worked fine for me..A lot of torque needed on screws to hold blade in place...plastic so far has handled the tightening force.

  • Why did I go so long without this?

Borrowed my friend’s balsa stripper because I need some 3/16” x 3/8” sticks. It work so much better than a metal straight edge and knife. Ordered two for myself immediately. No more buying strips.
