Great title, draws you in for all the right reasons.

This book is life affirming, great if you are a new parent with lots of helpful advice on how to deal with so many aspects of parenting. However, this book is equally great no matter what your age - if you are still willing to learn about relationships; how and why and what we can all do to help each other get through this life to best of our ability. I love this book so much I buy it for those friends and family who I know enjoy reading. Anyone can benefit from reading this excellent book.

    Interesting and helpful in part.

A good book for all new parents. Though some of the advice I could imagine parents of twins (or more) or of children of very similar ages being exasperated at expected to allow their little darlings to argue with you the merrits of not putting on their coat to go out on a cold day, and you sitting there trying to reason with them that of course it's not fair they should have to wear a coat if they don't want to. You totally understand! Ms Perry has had only one child, which would make lengthy negotiation a little bit more bearable and possible. But not if you have twins or more and they're all playing up. I think it would be more of a case of Put your coat on now, we are going out, and you can scream all you like, but too bad! I haven't had kids, but I was a nanny.

  • My view

A lot of common sense, but also had the ability to make the reader think more about the reasons why things happen the way they do.

  • Insightful

The book explores feelings you had growing up which explain why you parent the way you do or will. And how to better yourself from you poor experiences growing up. I haven’t finished the book yet, but I’m very much enjoying my time with it.
