It is capable of putting a 1" screw fully into pine, almost puts 1/1/2" fully in does not fully drive screw into hardwood even with pilot hole which was disappointing, and I had to resort to conventional screwdriver to fully tighten. Just does not have the torque required to make it an all round good tool. Handy for most small jobs with pine or panels only. Hence my three star rating.Good value for what it is, but I'll be buying a better one.
