    Quirky and very feminine, but very touching

    Christine Lavin is one of those people who sounds like the kind of sweet, shy girl who in the old days young men would show to their parents for their approval but would leave wall-flowering at the dance. She's funny, charming and mostly Rated-G, though she does shock your stereotypes with some frankness you wouldn't expect. When she sings funny songs your five-year old could almost crack up at them as much as you do, and when she sings sad songs your spine goes weak in sympathy for her. There's a few songs on here I don't much care for, but there are quite a few wonderful tunes that my life is much more complete with than without. If you live for snark, cynicism and gross, this is in an entirely different world - an entirely different plane of existence, really.
